STEP 2

Please complete all tasks listed below prior to your arrival on campus.

2.1 Pay your bill.

To pay your bill, follow these instructions.

Summer 2019 billing notifications are forwarded electronically starting in early April. The Summer Study bill is due May 10. If accepted for admission after May 1st, your bill will be due upon receipt. All Language School students with an outstanding student account due to Middlebury College will not be able to re-enroll until the balance has been resolved.

2.2 Set up your access to BannerWeb

Click here to set up BannerWeb.

Your BannerWeb access should be available within 2-3 days after you submit your enrollment deposit and enrollment forms.

Middlebury College uses BannerWeb, a secure program for students to view their academic records and financial information. In order to access BannerWeb, you must provide your 8-digit student ID (included in your acceptance email) and a 6-digit PIN. For your initial entry into the BannerWeb system, your PIN is set to your Date of Birth (MMDDYY). Your PIN defaults to 010101 if you did not provide us with your birth date. Upon first entry to the system, you are prompted to change this. You may also set up Direct Deposit for Student Refunds and View Your Student Account in BannerWeb.

After June 19th, once you have set up BannerWeb access and activated your Middlebury account (Section 2.3 below), you may discontinue use of the PIN and ID portal for BannerWeb.  As of June 19th, we will change all links from the Middlebury home page and go links (go/ssb, go/bw, go/bannerweb) to point to a new Single Sign-on (SSO) portal for BannerWeb and you will login to BannerWeb using the same username and password that you use for your Middlebury account.

2.3 Activate your Middlebury network account and set the password

Click here to activate your Middlebury network account.

Network accounts will be available after April 1. This account is used for email, wireless access, and more. All Language Schools communications during the summer are sent only to Middlebury email accounts. This includes links to training you will need to complete prior to arrival, correspondence with instructors, and information for online evaluations at the end of the program. Information regarding how to reset your Middlebury network password can be found here.

2.4 Obtain or renew your ID card

Click here for instructions regarding ID cards.

You will receive your ID card at check-in if your photo is submitted at least 72 hours prior to the date of your program’s Arrival Center. Otherwise, you will be issued a temporary card and will need to return to the Access and Parking Services office to pick up your permanent ID card when it is ready. You will be charged a fee of $10 if you fail to return the temporary card.

Middlebury undergraduates attending a Language School CANNOT use their academic year ID Card and must submit a NEW photo using the photo submission form.

2.5 Enter Emergency Contact Information

Enter your emergency contact information, cell phone number, missing person contact, and evacuation plan into BannerWeb following these instructions.

Please program the number for Middlebury College Public Safety: 802.443.5911, into your cell phone and use for medical emergencies as well as lock-outs.

Evacuation Plan – All students are required to submit a personal evacuation plan online in BannerWeb.  In the unlikely event of an emergency, the plan describes where you would go if the college had to be evacuated.  To submit a plan, log on to BannerWeb, choose “personal information,” and then “Personal Evacuation Plan.”

Missing Person Contact – Students may designate a confidential contact person in the event they go missing. This person can be anyone and does not need to be the same as the student’s emergency contact(s). BannerWeb maintains the contact person’s information in a confidential area, separate from the student’s emergency contact information. The information will be accessible only to authorized campus officials and may not be disclosed, except to law enforcement personnel in furtherance of a missing person investigation. If a student is missing, authorized campus officials and law enforcement officers will have access to this designated contact and will communicate with the person no later than 24 hours from the initial report.

2.6 Complete SafeColleges online training

By Friday, June 7, you should have received a notice from middleburystudents-vt.safecolleges.com with a link to online training you are required to complete before your classes start. Notices are sent to the email you entered on your Language Schools’ application. If you do not find the email, you may go to https://middleburystudents-vt.safecolleges.com to access this training. Your username will be the email address you entered on your application and your password will be the first 5 characters of that email. If you receive the notice at your Middlebury email, the username will be your Middlebury email address and the password will be the first 5 characters of your Middlebury email. You may update your password after logging in for the first time.

Courses must be completed before classes for your program begin. You will not be allowed to attend class until you have completed this training.

2.7 Complete online emergency preparedness training

This training consists of a 30-minute video. You will need to use your Middlebury user ID (the first part of your email address) and password to access the page. Please select the link to the “Language Schools” training video.

2.8 Submit acknowledgement receipt for Language Schools Handbook

Click here to acknowledge receipt of the link to the Middlebury Language Schools Handbook.
